The current state of Biotech & Medical investments indicates that fundings have slowed down. Despite this, cumulative sum of Biotech investments are only second to fintech. Biotech has reached this spot through an astonishing $8.74B in cumulative investment and 134 funded companies. Healthcare investments are on the fifth place, with only $1.46B in cumulative investment and 86 companies funded.
Despite not having as much traction as last year, the Biotech & Healthcare sectors should not be discouraged. Continued strong innovation from both of these sectors will only result in success. Europe is a great example. The European startups & companies that focus on the biotech & medical sectors continue to be true scientific powerhouses.
